ok, i came from an MMO where you can set up a shop to sell off your stuff. you don't have to constantly spam, just a little maybe. it seems easier selling stuff off that way, even items you thought were useless. i'm not used to the GW way of selling.

what quality of items are worth spamming for hours, and which ones should i just merchant?

Well, you'll have to learn the rare skins and stuff as you play and watch the market. However, it is generally a waste of time to sell any gold non-max or above a requirement of 10 or 11 unless it is uber rare. Purples are also fairly worthless unless uber rare skinned. Most greens are worth a nice amount. You really just have to watch the market to learn this well, you can start by looking over the Price Check forum on this website. It is also sometimes a lot easier to sell stuff on the Sell forum on this website.

First, know what is the max stats for various items and mods. (check the wiki)

Most people will not buy a non-max damage weapon, unless its a wand or something where the other stats are perfect.

Mods that are not perfect but nearly as good (+29 health, +19% enchant duration, etc) are also sellable.

Playing the game and knowing the various professions will also help you decide what people want. Some professions cannot cast any Enchantments, so do not usually like weapons with +XX% Enchant duration, for instance.

Play more and learn more. The most valuable things are max stat and rare skins. What is a rare skin is a whole different topic.

setting up a sell thread on GWG is just like setting up a shop in that game u played only the item doesn't sell straight away u have to go in-game to meet the buyer. At least its better than sitting at ur com spamming every few seconds for hours.

Tips:

#1 A gold item is more highly sought than a purple item, even if the stats are EXACTLY THE SAME.

#2 The lower the requirement to use the item, the better.

#3 Learn the item skins that people pay money for. I highly recommend you check out some of the threads in this section of the forum: http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/f...splay.php?f=39 , as they are a good guide to what some people are willing to pay for certain items. While by no means a *solid* answer to what any item is worth, it gives you an idea. And it definitely helps you figure out what items are worth holding on to.

#4 Some of the post popular trade areas are Ascalon City, Lion's Arch, Droknar's Forge (Prophecies), Kaineng City (Factions) and Kamadan (Nightfall), but be prepared to compete with a lot of other merchants.

#5 Generally speaking, any item that is not max stats is only good for merching or salvaging. However, if you want to sell the 'small stuff' you can often get away with player-selling popular skins with non-max stats--just not for huge wads of cash.

Some examples of non-max stuff people are still willing to buy include Fiery Dragon Swords, Fellblades and Stormbows, just because they look cool. Many newbies will pay 200g or 300g for a non-max Fiery Dragon Sword because Prince Rurik has already shown them what it looks like.

I know 200g or 300g is small change to a lot of high-fliers, but it stacks up while you're still working on your fortune. Obviously, don't waste hours trying to sell one of these things. If no one buys, hold it for another day or merch it.

#6 Things that are worth holding out for in terms of time are the high-end stuff. Don't jump on the first 80k offer if you know people are willing to pay 100k. And don't jump on the first 60k offer just because a forum says 'this item is worth 60k'. Have a good idea of what you want to get from an item, and hold out for that sum if you can.
